Outstanding young alumni awards presented

The Alumni Association has recognized the following young alumni for 2001-02 for exceptional career achievements, community service, and university service. Congratulations to each of these alumni representing the eight colleges:

New alumni staff appointment

Tom Tillar, vice president of alumni relations, announces the appointment of Robin H. Jackson as assistant director of alumni relations for the College of Architecture and Urban Studies and the Pamplin College of Business. Jackson's primary role will be to support and enhance each college's existing alumni programs, as well as to develop and expand additional alumni involvement through various special events and programs. In addition, she will assist each college in heightening the awareness of alumni opportunities for their respective current student bases. She is a native of North Carolina and a graduate of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. All of the university's colleges have alumni relations staff assigned to assist their programs.

Alumni directory will be published in 2002

Our Virginia Tech alumni family now numbers 170,000! We are in the process of gathering updated information in preparation for the official 2002 edition of the Virginia Tech Alumni Directory. Please be sure to complete and return the directory questionnaire that you should have recently received in the mail. Alumni who prefer may complete the questionnaire online by going to www.VaTechAlumni.com and selecting the button labeled "2002 Alumni Directory" or by calling 800/982-1590. You may order your personal copy of the 2002 Directory in hard cover, soft cover, or CD-ROM format. The directory will be delivered in fall 2002. This valuable resource will include listings by class year, geographic location, occupation, and e-mail address to make it easy to find your fellow Hokies. Thank you for taking the time to help us with our 2002 records update as we prepare for the publication of the directory. Only pre-publication orders are being accepted.
