career Gaver M. Nichols, Baltimore, Md., whose firm was named a top designer in the American Residental Design Awards by the American Institute of Building Design, also received multiple awards in the renovation, multifamily, and conceptual design categories.

career Thomas A. Sachs, Alexandria, Va., retired after more than 40 years in public service as associate director of business services with the U.S. Department of Transportation, Office of the Secretary.
